Why did we start?
Nova began as a deeply personal journey.
Our founder, Navatej (33), had spent years trying to find a meaningful connection through modern dating apps. Swipe after swipe, conversation after conversation—it all began to feel transactional, superficial, and emotionally exhausting. There was no room for vulnerability, no space for authentic expression. The platforms weren't built for people who sought depth, safety, and emotional resonance. One evening, after another ghosted message and another mismatched connection, he asked a simple question: "What if dating felt human again?" That question became the seed of Nova.
The problem with modern love
We kept hearing the same stories from friends and colleagues. People were tired of swiping, drained by ghosting, and left lonelier than before. Instead of bringing people closer, technology was pushing them further apart.
The truth is, most dating platforms were designed for quick matches, not meaningful connections. They prioritize endless engagement over emotional wellbeing, and often leave users questioning their self-worth.
